The Beginning

WELCOME to the site where librarians from the blueberry state read, wring their hands, shout out loud, eat pie, and cast their vote for the children's book most deserving of the award for the most distinguished American children's book published the previous year. You are welcome to participate and comment. A subcommittee made up of the members of the New Jersey Library Association's(NJLA) Children's Services Section will monitor the blog. We will post a list by the end of June of recommended reading and readers will have an opportunity to make further suggestions. Voting on this blog will conclude one week before ALA Midwinter conference(Jan 25-29, 2013) when the ALSC awards are announced.
